This year’s Celebration will see special performances from The Revolution, Jessie Johnson and Funk Soldiers – a newly formed all-star ensemble of NPG and Paisley Park artists.
Paisley Park Official has opened ticket sales for the second week-long celebration, in which mark’s Prince’s death on 21 April. The four day event will run from 19 April to the 22nd.
Following the recent announcement by the Revolution of their US tour this spring, more of Prince’s former band mates and various members of the NPG (the New Power Generation, Prince’s backing band throughout the 1990s and 2000s) will be following suit with a tour of their own.
Paisley Park will be hosting a four-day series of concerts in April 2017, from 20th to 23rd, to celebrate the life and legacy of Prince exactly one year on since his death at the studio complex on 21 April 2016.
The details for the official Prince tribute concert at Xcel Energy Centre have at long last been revealed by his family.
With a host of events having already taken place to offer their tribute to Prince – Autism Rocks, Billboard, BET, even the upcoming reunion of the Revolution in the three months following the rock star’s sudden death, his family have set the date for the official memorial show.
The original line-up of Prince’s Purple Rain backing group the Revolution announce two shows to take place at the legendary First Avenue, Minneapolis, on Friday 2 September and Saturday 3rd.
The lack of and dire need for an official memorial with which to celebrate and pay tribute to Prince has resulted in a series of tribute shows organised by former band mates spring up instead.
