Prince and the band are to take a break after finishing the North American leg of the tour on 11 September in what has become the most successful tour of 2004 by grossing an incredible 1.47 million ticket sales amounting to $90.3m from the 96 shows.
Predominantly, saxophonist Candy Dulfer will be returning to Europe, drummer John Blackwell with will spending much needed time with his family, but as yet, no word has been received on what is to follow. It is likely, though not officially confirmed, that the Musicology Tour will move on to Europe, rumours are circulating dates in February and May 2005. It is unlikely now that there will be any more shows in 2004. Details of new dates either within the US or elsewhere could be announced at any time as in the past dates for the tour have been announced around 2-3 months before the actual show to give as much lead time as possible to sell out large venues. Any dates that are announced will be placed here as soon as they are known.
