Prince’s mother, Mattie Baker passed away on 15 February 2002. His father, John Nelson died, on 25 August 2001, the couple had divorced over 30 years ago. She was a singer in the Prince Roger Trio in the 1950’s and married the jazz bands pianist John, who was originally from New Orleans, he immense influence on Prince’s music. Our deepest sympathies to Prince.
