Although Prince is not up for an award, he is scheduled to play the show which takes place in London’s Earl’s Court on Wednesday the 15th of February. Prince’s last appearance at the Brits was in 1997 performing Emancipation. Rumours slate Prince will open the show performing as many as three songs with old Revolution sidekicks, Wendy and Lisa. For Prince, headlining a major awards show to kick off a tour worked extremely well when opening the Grammy’s with Beyonce in 2004, the ensuing Musicology tour went on to be the years most attended show in the US. The 3121 shows are due to start in May, the Brit awards appearance highlighting that this tour is possibly to start in the UK. Prince, staying at the Dorchester Hotel, is also using his trip to the UK to do some recording in a north London studio.
