After pushing the boundaries of his online music club, it seems like winning the Webby Award for the best online music site was too much for Prince and has put the club “in hiatus” because, he says, it has gone as far as it can possibly go in its current form. So the dust sheets go up and the club is to get a somewhat un-needed overhaul once Prince has decided what form and direction the new club would take. The question here is, if you build something and win awards for it, why tear it down? Cost, maintenance, time? Legal action! British nature magazine house, the Nature Publishing Group, has issued the trademark notice, forcing Prince to shut down his NPG Music Club site until the dispute has been resolved.
